MOBO awarding winning Nigerian recording artist, songwriter, and performer Wizkid has confirmed two hotly tipped UK headline shows this September at Manchester’s Ritz and London’s Indigo2 with the appearance of some very special guests.

As an 11-year-old singing at his local church in Lagos, Nigeria, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid could never have predicted the dizzying success he would go on to enjoy within the music industry years later. This singer has devoted every minute to perfecting his craft and finds inspiration in the world around him, which he then translates musically in the form of intoxicating lyrics and melodies.

Since bursting onto the scene with his debut album ‘Superstar’ in 2011 Wizkid has amassed over 1.16 million followers on Twitter (the first ever Nigerian musician to have over 1 million) and devotes a lot of his attention to interacting with fans, and it’s this accessibility and personal connection that kept such a loyal following.

Live WIZKID has completely honed himself as an incredibly captivating performer. Back in 2012, Wizkid completely sold out his headlining performance at London’s famed Hammersmith Apollo, he then put in an unforgettable live set at BBC Radio 1Xtra Live, headlined a show at Manchester’s Birdcage Club and even went on to perform at London’s Wireless Festival in 2013. The recognition he’s received over the past few years from both the industry and public alike has been nothing short of impressive making these new live shows not to be missed.

In 2011, he won a MOBO award for the Best African Act and took home a BET Award prize in 2012 for the Best International Act: Africa. The star also has 3 nominations for the MTV European Music Awards under his belt. Not only that Wizkid also found time to collaborate with American rapper Wale on the track ‘Drop’.  He is now putting the finishing touches to his sophomore record and has also been in the studio with hip-hop heavyweights The Game and Young Jeezy and has recorded songs with Chris Brown.
